Yarnbarf Is Evolving: What’s Changing (and What’s Coming!) 🌟

Hi all! Firstly, happy new year. I hope you had plenty of time over the holidays to work on your WIP’s, my December was spent frantically trying to complete some last minute gift knits followed by casting on far too many projects… 😅 anyway lets get into things here.

What’s changing?

If you’ve been browsing the Yarnbarf website recently, you might have noticed that things look a little different and a little sparse-r than usual. I wanted to take a moment to explain what’s going on, and more importantly, what’s coming next.

I mentioned in my previous blog post and also on Instagram, a little as to why Yarnbarf has been in hiatus this year and how I would like to bring it back in a more pressure free way. With this in mind, over Christmas and the holidays, I’ve put in some thought about how and what I would like this to look like.

So…

✨Yarnbarf is currently evolving into a curated online yarn shop.✨

What curated means for me is brands and companies that I use everyday, trust and believe in and that I genuinely love and enjoy working with.

This means the site is in a bit of a transition phase for a short period while new stock is sourced, organised and I iron out any small issues. As part of this transition, you may still see some imagery containing my hand-dyed yarn. As mentioned in my previous post, I will still continue to dye yarn but only on my Super Chunky single ply base - at the moment 🫶

What’s coming?

Going forward - I’m planning to stock, yarns, tools and designers I’ve personally used in my own crafting, whether that be knitting or crochet. Quality, feel and how enjoyable a yarn is to work with are hugely important to me and believe these things matter to you too! This is the same for the tools that I like to use.

My experiences are playing a big role in how I curate the shop. Rather than stocking everything, Yarnbarf will focus on thoughtfully chosen yarns & tools that are accessible, well-constructed and a joy to stash and use.

What does this mean for you?

  • A growing selection of yarn fibres, brands and weights from Lace to Super Chunky.
  • Small influxes of stock added frequently.
  • A focus on quality and accessibility for all makers.
  • Fibres like Alpaca, Merino, BFL and Acrylic.
  • More choice!

The end goal is a one stop shop that feels intentional, accessible, inspiring and easy to explore new products ⚡️

Thank you for bearing with me during this transitional phase. As I’m writing this, the website is in disarray while stock is being added. Thank you for bearing with me <3

If you’re not already a newsletter subscriber, please consider joining the list as I’d love to tell you when we’re ready!

Thank you for being here while Yarnbarf evolves into this next chapter. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to drop me an email (emma@yarnbarf.co.uk), I’d love to hear what brands you want to see!

Happy creating!
